Privacy Policy

Plain Automation ("we", "this site") is a simple, static website. This policy explains — in plain English — what data is and isn't collected when you visit.

What we don't collect

  • We run no analytics or tracking software of our own. We don't know how many people visit, where they come from, or what they click.
  • There are no user accounts, no comment forms, and no contact forms on this site.
  • There is no email newsletter, so we never ask for or store your email address.
  • We set no first-party cookies ourselves.

Embedded YouTube videos

Some pages on this site embed videos from YouTube. When you visit a page containing an embedded YouTube video — and especially when you press play — YouTube and its parent company Google may place cookies on your device and collect information about your visit, such as your IP address, device information, and viewing behavior. If you are logged in to a Google account, this activity may be associated with that account.

This data collection is governed by Google's own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read. We do not receive any of the data Google collects through these embeds. If you prefer not to share anything with Google, simply don't play the embedded videos — the written articles contain the same conclusions.

Affiliate links

This site links to third-party products and services (see our affiliate disclosure). When you click one of those links, you leave this website, and the destination site may use cookies to attribute your visit to us. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control and are not responsible for.

Server logs

Like virtually every website, our hosting provider may automatically keep standard server logs (for example, IP addresses and browser types) for security and operational purposes. We do not access or use these logs for marketing or profiling.

Your rights

Because we collect essentially no personal data ourselves, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you believe we hold personal data about you, or if you are in the EU/EEA or California and wish to exercise rights under the GDPR or CCPA, contact us as described below and we will respond promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add analytics, a newsletter, or any other data collection, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above before turning anything on.
